The CostMembershipsThe full membership cost is £14.95.For participating authorities, the cost is reduced to £11.95. This covers the cost of all six book packs given to members, as well as postage and monthly reports to participating authorities. Memberships are invoiced monthly, after the authorities have received an uptake report on the number of children registered during the previous month. Most authorities choose to offer a Freepost facility to parents wishing to register. This is charged at cost (second class) on a monthly basis, together with memberships. Invitation PacksThese cost 50p each. The cost is usually borne by the local authorities. They are invoiced after each delivery to the Health Authority/Primary Care Trust.Health Authorities/PCTs usually cover the cost of posting out (second class) the invitation packs themselves in their internal mailing. BudgetingTo start, find out the average number of 3 year olds per year, in your area (approximately equals the birth rate). For invitation packs, multiply this number by £ 0.50 For memberships, take 60% of this number (average uptake) and multiply by £11.95 For Freepost, take 60% of this number (average uptake) and multiply by £0.255 (current rate). Total these and you should have an estimated budgeted allowance for one year. Other costsAny other costs are optional but you may wish to budget for a launch and some promotional material. If your budget allows, you could include additional resources for Partner Groups or to utilise in support.Remember, participating authorities receive at least 20% discounts on all Promotional & Support Material they order. |
