Keeping Safe
The Children's Traffic Club is all about keeping children safe - while they are young as well as when they are older and able to travel around by themselves.
We fully support the government's target to reduce the number of children who get hurt on Britain's roads by half, by the year 2010.
In this section you will find out:
- about 3 to 4 year olds - a reminder of what they are like and how we can help them.
- useful Road Safety advice - a summary of the topics covered by the Club books.
- some research findings on how the Club helps its members keep safe from traffic.
Remember:
- 3 to 4 year old children should not be let out by themselves or only accompanied by another child (however sensible they may be). Make sure they are always with you or with a grown up you trust.
- Because of their size, young children see roads and traffic in a very different way to grown ups. Try crouching down to see what they see - it will help you explain the dangers better.
